Hi there, I’m Liz. I am a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (MFT), with a video therapy practice in the Los Altos, California. I am also licensed to work with people who live in Idaho and Ohio. I have over a decade of experience helping people learn how to help themselves through difficulties with food and eating, anxiety, and depression. I am super passionate about helping people create change in their lives. Having grown up in the Silicon Valley, I know what some of the unique pressures and worries are that come along with living in our fast-paced achievement-oriented culture and love helping people break free from the anxieties and other mental health struggles that come along with that for so many of us.
I have a Master’s Degree in Counseling Psychology from the University of San Francisco and a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Sociology & Psychology from San Diego State University in 2004.
I have extensive training in an advanced form of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy called TEAM-CBT, based on the work of Dr. David Burns. I also incorporate Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Intuitive Eating, Self-Compassion, and more. I have experience working in Eating Disorder treatment centers, Partial Hospitalization/Intensive Outpatient (PHP/IOP) clinics, schools, and community mental health clinics.
I am a member of the following organizations:
CAMFT (California Association of Marriage & Family Therapists)
SCV-CAMFT (Santa Clara Valley branch of CAMFT)
NCCBT (Northern California Cognitive Behavioral Therapists)
